Zoom has officially launched its cloud phone solution, Zoom Phone, in India. This service, licensed by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), allows businesses to manage their voice communications over the public switched telephone network (PSTN) with local phone numbers. Initially available in Pune, it will soon expand to other regions like Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Delhi.
Zoom Phone is designed for companies seeking to replace traditional private branch exchange (PBX) systems, offering a more modern, unified communication platform. It integrates seamlessly with Zoom Workplace and includes AI-driven features like post-call summaries, voicemail prioritization, and task extraction, improving overall productivity and efficiency.
The service caters to multinational corporations and local businesses alike, supporting hybrid work models and enhancing customer and employee interactions.
