AI Paralegal Startup Jhana Raises $1.6M to Revolutionize Legal Research and Document Review

Jhana, an AI-powered legal assistant startup, has raised $1.6 million in a seed funding round. This funding was led by prominent investors including Girish Mathrubootham (Freshworks) and Manav Garg (Eka Software) through their Together Fund. Other notable backers include Shyamal Anadkat from OpenAI and several founders from companies like Razorpay, CRED, and VMware.

Founded in 2021 by former Harvard students, Jhana offers AI paralegal solutions aimed at streamlining legal research and document review for law firms and in-house legal teams. The platform uses a proprietary database of over 15 million legal documents to generate citations, memos, and legal propositions, enhancing productivity and reducing errors. With this new capital, Jhana plans to further develop its AI models and expand its team.
