Backblaze, Inc. is an American cloud storage and data backup company based in San Mateo, California. It was founded in 2007 by Gleb Budman and others. Its two main products are their B2 Cloud Storage and Computer Backup services, targeted at both business and personal markets. Backblaze Cloud Backup backs up PC and Mac desktop computers including external USB hard drives. The personal backup product is encrypted and the data in the backup is accessible only by the account owner. According to the company website, “Protect your business, your memories, or both with the world’s easiest backup for Macs and PCs—secure in the trusted Backblaze Storage Cloud and customizable for one or one thousand computers.” As per a customer review, “I have full trust in Backblaze that, if something were to happen, I could easily retrieve what I need. Hopefully that never happens, but the benefit is having the peace of mind that our data is secure.”
