Indian Travel Tech Startup Holiday Tribe Secures INR 5.4 Cr in Seed Funding to Transform Travel Experiences

Travel-tech startup Holiday Tribe has successfully raised INR 5.4 crore in a seed funding round led by Powerhouse Ventures and GSF, with notable participation from investors such as Dinesh Agarwal and Dinesh Gulati of India Mart, Murugavel Janakiraman from BharatMatrimony.com, and actor Gaurav Kapur. The funding will be used to enhance the brand’s technological capabilities, expand its supply network, and support brand-building initiatives.

Founded in 2023 by former MakeMyTrip executives Anshu Sharma and Chirag Goyal, Holiday Tribe aims to tap into the growing post-COVID travel market, where families and friends are eager to explore new destinations. In a joint statement, the co-founders emphasized their mission to address the need for customized travel solutions, stating, “We continue to work towards narrowing this gap with the implementation of robust back-end technology to provide timely solutions, in line with customer preferences.”

With an extensive supply network of over 100,000 hotels worldwide and partnerships with more than 10 tourism boards, Holiday Tribe offers customizable holiday experiences for various travelers, including families, couples, adventure seekers, and those looking for unique destinations.

Kshitij Golwalkar, General Partner at Powerhouse Ventures, remarked on the partnership, highlighting the potential of Holiday Tribe to revolutionize leisure travel in India through effective tech integration and customer service. Similarly, Rajesh Sawhney, Founder of GSF, praised the co-founders for their deep travel industry expertise and commitment to personalization in travel.

The funding comes at a time when India’s outbound tourism market is projected to reach USD 18.81 billion in 2024, with a robust growth forecast. The travel landscape is evolving rapidly, bolstered by increased visa accessibility and expanded international flight options, signaling a bright future for both domestic and international tourism.

As Holiday Tribe embarks on its journey, it is positioned to become a leading partner for travelers seeking tailored holiday experiences in an increasingly competitive market.
